India has announced its squad for Champions Trophy 2025. Team India will begin their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20. India last played an ICC 50-over tournament in the 2023 ODI World Cup, in which it did well. The team led by Rohit Sharma had won 10 matches in a row, but Australia defeated them in the final and shattered their dream of winning the title. 6 players from the ODI World Cup team are not in this Champions Trophy squad.
Yashaswi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant included
The selectors have included 5 players who were not part of the World Cup 2023 squad in the Champions Trophy 2025 squad. Yashshvi Jaiswal, who has not played a single ODI so far, has made a place in the team. This star opener has made a lot of impact in Test and T20. Rishabh Pant was injured in a horrific car accident before the tournament and was left out of the ODI World Cup 2023 squad. He has returned to the team for Champions Trophy 2025. Akshar Patel was included in the starting squad for the World Cup but was ruled out due to injury. He has also got a place in the Champions Trophy team. The selectors have also shown confidence in Washington Sundar and Arshdeep Singh.
