1. MD and CEO Srikrishnan Hari Har Sarma of Karnataka Bank resigned
On 30 June, Karnataka Bank’s Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Srikrishnan Hari Har Sarma resigned.
Srikrishnan’s resignation will be effective from July 15, 2025.
- The board has accepted his resignation, citing Sarma’s personal reasons.
- Apart from him, Executive Director Shekhar Rao also resigned. His resignation will be effective from July 31, 2025.
- Due to the resignation of both, the bank shares saw a decline of 5.61% on the BSE.
- Meanwhile, Raghavendra Srinivas Bhat has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer i.e. COO from July 2, 2025.
2. Ayush Shetty won the first BWF World Tour title
On June 29, Indian badminton player Ayush Shetty won the Mains Singles title at the US Open 2025 badminton tournament.
The US Open 2025 badminton tournament is Ayush Shetty’s first BWF World Tour title.
- With this, he has become the first Indian shuttler to win the BWF title this season.
- Ayush defeated Brian Yang of Canada 21–18, 21-13 in the final.
- Earlier in the semi -finals, he defeated the world’s sixth player Chow Tien Chain.
- The tournament was the BWF World Tour Super 300 event, which was held in the US in June 2025.

1. UGC issued notice to 89 institutions including 4 IITs
University Grant Commission i.e. UGC issued notice to 89 institutions for not complying with ragging prevention regulations. Of these 4 Indian Institute of Technology i.e. IIT-Bombay, Kharagpur, Palakkad and Hyderabad; 3 Indian Institute of Management i.e. IIM-Bombay, Rohtak and Tiruchirappalli as well as Aligarh Muslim University.
According to the notice, these institutions have not presented the Menditory anti-ragging commitment in writing to the UGC despite repeated warnings.
According to Ragging UGC Regulations 2009, all the affiliated institutions from this are required to submit the students’ undertaking and anti -ragging undertaking.
2. 3. 3-language policy order returned in schools in Maharashtra
The Maharashtra government on Sunday canceled two orders (GRs) issued on April 16 and 17 associated with the three-language policy. The opposition was constantly opposing this order of the government. Under this, the government had issued an order to make Hindi compulsory as the third language from class 1 to 5 in April this year.
Maharashtra CM and both deputy CMs ruled on the language policy at the press conference on Sunday.
CM Devendra Fadnavis and both Deputy CM held a press conference. CM said- A committee has been formed under the chairmanship of educationist Narendra Jadhav regarding three language policy. Only after its report, a final decision will be taken on the role of Hindi.
