Manmohan Singh was born on 26 September 1932 in West Punjab. Manmohan Singh had his primary education from Punjab. He completed high school in the year 1948, while in 1950 he passed the intermediate examination with first division. After this he graduated in Economics from Panjab University, Chandigarh in 1952.
Manmohan Singh received his Master’s degree in 1954. His interest in studies can be gauged from the fact that he went to Cambridge University for further studies. Career of Dr. Manmohan Singh: Started his career as a lecturer
Manmohan Singh started his career as a lecturer in Punjab University. After this he was selected for Delhi University. His association with government began in the 1950s, when he worked as a researcher in economic affairs. After this he was appointed Economic Adviser in the year 1971. After this, Manmohan Singh never looked back. After being an economic adviser, he was also the Vice Chairman of the Planning Commission and the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India.
