CHENNAI: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal would meet his Tamil Nadu counterpart M K Stalin in Chennai on Thursday, as part of his outreach to the opposition parties against the ordinance promulgated by the Union government over civil services in the national capital.
Taking to Twitter, Kejriwal announced his scheduled visit to Chennai to meet the DMK chief.
“Will be meeting Tamil Nadu CM Thiru @mkstalin in Chennai tomorrow (1st June) to seek DMK’s support against Centre’s unconstitutional-undemocratic ‘Anti-Delhi’ Ordinance,” the Delhi chief minister said.
The Union government promulgated an ordinance on May 19 to nullify the Supreme Court order that ruled in favour of the Delhi government over control of civil services a week ago.
Kejriwal had called on Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena (UBT) head Uddhav Thackeray and CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury.
