JAISALMER: On his visit to Barmer where an interaction with local women was organised Friday evening at the Circuit House, chief minister Ashok Gehlot was so miffed when his mike went out of order that he threw it on the floor towards district collector Arun Purohit and asked why “outsiders” were standing behind the women.

The CM was having a dialogue with Nari Shakti awardees Ruma Devi, Lata Kacchwaha and other women and girls when the mike went out of order. The district collector had to pick up the mike thrown towards him by the chief minister, who was given another mike to speak.
While talking to the women, Gehlot spotted some people standing behind the women, at which he again got annoyed and asked them angrily, “Who are you?” He then chided the district collector and the SP about the sort of security arrangements they had put in place.
Gehlot was having a dialogue with the women about the government schemes being run for them. During the programme, anganbadi workers expressed gratitude to the chief minister for increasing their honorarium by 15%. After the programme, Gehlot went to local legislator Mewaram Jain’s house for dinner and while returning he went to the railway station where he spoke with youth and let them take selfies with him.
He then walked on the station road and bought ice cream from a shop and chatted with local people.
