NEW DELHI: A video from one of the coaches of the ill-fated Coromandel Express has surfaced on social media, showing what happened inside the train when it met with a horrific accident that left 288 people dead.
TOI could not independently verify the authenticity of the video.
The video, shot from a mobile phone camera, shows a sanitation work mopping the floor just seconds before the crash.
Some passengers can also be seen sleeping inside the coach.

Suddenly, the camera starts shaking and the video goes dark with passengers screaming loudly as the train gets derailed following the collision. The video ends abruptly.
This is purportedly the first video that has emerged from inside the train since the accident.
Last Friday, the Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express hit a stationary goods train after mistakenly entering the loopline near the Bahanaga Bazar station in Odisha’s Balasore. Some coaches of the Chennai-bound train also collided with the Yeshvantpur Express, turning it into a triple train crash.
As many as 288 people lost their lives and scores were injured in one of India’s worst train tragedies.
