LUDHIANA: Punjab Shiv Sena leader Sandeep Thapar, who is also descendant of martyr Sukhdev Thapar, has been assaulted with swords by a group of Nihangs outside Ludhiana Civil Hospital on Friday afternoon.
Importantly, police protection has also been provided to Thapad and the attack happened with in front of his gunman.
President Shiv Sena Punjab, Rajiv Tandon said, “Sandeep Thapar had gone the civil hospital to attend a memorial function of BJP leader Ravinder Arora.
As soon as he came out of the hospital with his gunman, a group of Nihangs intercepted case. The accused assaulted Sandeep Thapar with swords in front of his gunman who did nothing to save him.”
While the accused escaped from the spot, the injured was rushed to CMC hospital from where the doctors referred him to DMC hospital.
After the attack the Shiv Sena leaders protest at the civil hospital and later on at DMC hospital against the police administration.
