Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to express his disdain for pop star Taylor Swift, writing, “I hate Taylor Swift.” This outburst comes following Swift’s recent endorsement of Kamala Harris for the 2024 US presidential election. Swift, who shared her voting decision on Instagram to her 283 million followers, said she would be casting her vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

Swift had on Wednesday endorsed Kamala Harris for the presidency, voicing her support after watching the first televised debate. In her post on Instagram, Swift called Harris a “steady-handed, gifted leader” and explained that she was voting for Harris and Tim Walz because they champion the causes she believes in.
“I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades,” Swift said.

Swift’s endorsement sparked mixed reactions, with some fans applauding her, while others, including Trump, showed disdain. On Wednesday during an interview on “Fox & Friends,” Trump said he preferred Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, over Swift, calling her a “big Trump fan.”
Despite the criticism, Swift’s endorsement led to a notable surge in voter registrations. A custom link she shared reportedly drove over 337,000 visitors to vote.gov by Wednesday afternoon, according to reports.
However, a YouGov poll revealed that only 8% of voters were more likely to vote for the Democratic candidates after her endorsement. In contrast, 20% said they were less likely to do so, Nypost reported.
Musk’s comments spark outrage
Following Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris, Elon Musk made a controversial remark on X (formerly Twitter), playfully offering Swift “a child” and vowing to “guard her cats.” His comments quickly went viral, drawing widespread criticism. Musk’s daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, who publicly disowned him, called his post sexist and abhorrent.
Posting on Meta’s Threads, Wilson said, “I saw ‘the tweet.’ Heinous incel nonsense is in fact heinous incel nonsense… Don’t let people talk to you like that. It’s disgusting, it’s belittling, and incredibly sexist. You deserve better.”
Meanwhile, Swift, referring to herself as a “childless cat lady,” said she made an informed decision to support Harris and Tim Walz, condemning an AI campaign falsely portraying her as a Trump supporter.
