5-year-old child stuck in 150 feet deep borewell, efforts are on to get out

Rescue operations are on to save 5-year-old Aryan, who fell into a 150-feet deep borewell while playing in a field in Kalikhar village of Rajasthan’s Dausa district on Monday. Seven JCB machines and three other machines have been deployed in this operation, digging around the borewell.

Rescue teams from Jaipur’s SDRF and Ajmer’s NDRF, along with local experts, are working tirelessly at the site. The operation started around 4 pm. According to the information, the rescue teams have detected the movement of the child through the camera and Aryan also tried to grab the rope extended towards him.

The NDRF team tried four different makeshift methods to extract the child, but so far all efforts have failed.

Senior district officials are present at the rescue site since Monday evening. Rescue operations are expected to continue as efforts to rescue the trapped child are intensifying. On this occasion, medical personnel were supplying oxygen to the child through a pipe in a borewell. Dausa MLA DC Bairwa and District Collector Devendra Kumar also reached the spot after getting information about the incident and got information from the officials present at the spot. IANS
