1. Malayalam writer MT Vasudevan Nair passes away

Famous Malayalam writer and Jnanpith awardee MT Vasudevan Nair passed away on December 26. His age was 91 years.

He was a great writer, screenwriter and film director of modern Malayalam literature. He has directed 7 films and written the screenplays of about 54 films.

The film Nirmalyam was produced by MT Vasudevan for which he was awarded the National Award in the Best Feature Film category. He worked as a director in the films Bandhanam and Kadav.

Vasudev Nair was born in Palakkad, Kerala.

2. IAS Officer Arunish Chawla Become Revenue Secretary

On December 26, 1992 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre Arunish Chawla was appointed Revenue Secretary in the Finance Ministry. Chawla is currently working as Pharmaceuticals Secretary in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.

Amit Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer i.e. CEO of Unique Identification Authority of India, was appointed as the new Pharmaceutical Secretary.

Arunish Chawla is a 1992 batch IAS officer from Bihar cadre.

1. Recruitment for 661 posts of stenographer in UP

Applications for Stenographer Recruitment 2024 in UP have started from today i.e. 26th December. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website upsssc.gov.in. This is also the last date for payment of fees. Corrections can be made in the form till February 1, 2025.

Educational Qualification:

  • 12th pass from recognized board.
  • Must have passed UPSSSC PET 2024 Score Card and NIELIT CCC Exam.
  • Hindi typing should be at a speed of 25 words per minute and Hindi stenographer should have a speed of 80 words per minute.

Age Limit:

  • Minimum: 18 years
  • Maximum: 40 years
  • The age limit will be determined as of July 1, 2024.
  • Reserved categories of the state will be given relaxation as per rules.

Salary :

Rs 29,200 – 92,300 per month.

2. Application for Chhattisgarh Civil Judge Recruitment 2024 starts from today.

Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) has released the notification for Civil Judge (Junior Division) Recruitment Examination 2024. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website psc.cg.gov.in.

After completion of the application process, the process of correction in the form will start from January 25, 2025, which will continue till January 27, 2025. After the last date for making corrections in the application form, the candidates will have to pay the fee while getting a second chance. For this a fee of Rs 500 will have to be paid.

Educational Qualification:

Must be a graduate in law from a recognized university.

Age Limit:

  • Candidates should be between 21 to 35 years as on January 1, 2025.
  • Reserved category candidates will be given relaxation in maximum age limit.

Fees:

  • Candidates from Chhattisgarh are exempted from payment of fees.
  • Candidates from outside the state will have to pay a fee of Rs 400.

1. 17 children honored with National Children’s Award

President Draupadi Murmu honored 17 children with the Prime Minister’s National Children’s Award at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday. This time 17 children from 14 states/union territories were selected for this award. These include 7 boys and 10 girls.

Children’s awards are given in seven categories. Which includes Art and Culture, Bravery, Innovation, Science and Technology, Social Work, Sports and Environment.

Iona Thapa (right) has also been honored for bravery. 17 year old Iona had rescued 36 people trapped in the house when the fire broke out.

The popular name in the sports category is that of 3 year old Anish Sarkar. Who is the youngest chess player in the world to achieve FIDE (World Chess Federation) ranking. Anish Sarkar, resident of Kolkata, is 3 years, eight months and 19 days old.

President Murmu gave the Children’s Award to Goldie Kumari of Nalanda, Bihar. Disabled Goldie has won gold and silver medals in the World Para Olympic Youth Games in Thailand.

Saurabh Kumar of Sheikhpura district of Bihar received the award for bravery. 9 year old Saurabh had saved three wooden sticks from drowning in the pond.

2. Lathicharge on students protesting at BPSC office, girls also beaten, 40 students injured

On December 25, the police lathi-charged the students sitting on protest in front of the BPSC office.

Actually, more than 250 candidates had come to surround the BPSC office. Students told that as soon as they got information about the siege, the police started lathicharge without any warning. BPSC candidate Rohit Kumar said that about 40 students were injured in the lathicharge.

At the same time, 8 candidates including a woman have been admitted to the hospital. These candidates were demanding cancellation of BPSC 70th PT exam which was held on 13th December.

Candidates had alleged paper leak. Which the Commission accepted and said that the examination should be conducted again at the disputed centre. But the candidates are demanding that the entire examination be canceled and everyone’s exam should be conducted again.
