74 percent of youth are wasting 6 hours every week in mobile gaming revealed in survey


Gen Z Mobile Gaming: According to a recent survey conducted by Cyber ​​Media Research (CMR), in India, 74% of the youth between Gen Z i.e. 13 to 28 years of age are spending at least 6 hours of mobile games every week. This trend shows the increasing popularity of mobile gaming and changing digital behavior of youth.

Statistics revealed in the survey

The survey included 1,550 participants who were from different cities of the country like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Chennai, Jaipur, Indore and Gwalior. These were divided into three generations including Millennials (28–44 years), Gen Z (13-28 years) and Gen Alpha (less than 13 years). According to the report, 32% of Indian users spend an average of 4 to 6 hours in mobile gaming every week, while a large part considers gaming to be a means of entertainment, mental agility and social engagement.

These two games craze in youth

The survey also revealed that Free Fire and BGMI are the most popular games. Both 26-26% ‘Serious Gamers’ described their first choice. At the same time, gaming styles like Pazels and First-Person Shooter (FPS) remained the choice of 19% users. Interestingly, more than 30% GEN Z games are getting attracted towards high-quality and premium titles and 57% of them are actively participating in gaming like e-sport.

The effect on buying smartphones is also seen

According to the information, along with mobile gaming, there has been a big change in smartphone selection. Gen Z is now giving priority to the strength of the processor and the credibility of the brand while buying a smartphone. MediaTek Dimensity and Qualcomm Snapdragon have emerged as the most trusted chipsets in this category.

The report also stated that MediaTek Customer is at the forefront of satisfaction (46%) and brand loyalty (50%) while Qualcomm has succeeded in maintaining the image of the ‘premium’ brand. Especially 45% of Gen Alpha’s users are ready to pay a higher price for this.
