A local court has sentenced eight Pakistani citizens to 20 years of imprisonment with hard labor in the case of recovery of 200 kg of drugs. The court said in its decision that ‘it will be a lesson for the enemy country that they should refrain from the smuggling of drug consignments affecting life and health.’ The Indian Coast Guard stationed on the Gujarat Sahil arrested the criminals in 2015 with 232 kg of heroin worth Rs 6.96 crore. Special Judge Shashikant Bangar for the cases under NDPS has declared the accused guilty under the Anti-Drug Act. The culprits have been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment each, which is the maximum sentence under the NDPS Act. A fine of Rs 6 lakh each has also been imposed on the accused. The accused have been identified as Alibakhsh Sindhi (48), Maqsood Masim (54), Muhammad Natho Sindhi (55), Muhammad Ahmed Inayat (37), Muhammad Yusuf Gagwani (58), Muhammad Yunus Sindhi (44), Muhammad Gulshan Baloch (40).
