Pathankot (NP Dhawan): An elderly woman (70) died and four others were injured in an accident involving two cars on the Malikpur-Pathankot National Highway. The deceased has been identified as Jaswant Kaur. Jaswant Kaur’s son Gurcharan Singh resident of Kathua filed a statement with the Sujanpur police that he was going to Kathua from Amritsar with his family. When his car reached a little before bridge number-12 near Sujanpur, the driver of the car going ahead suddenly braked without giving a signal, due to which his car collided with the next car. His mother Jaswant Kaur, wife Sukhpreet Kaur, daughter Gurpreet Kaur (6) and son Davneet Singh (2) were sitting in the car. His seriously injured mother was admitted to a private hospital in Sarna, where she died during treatment. Sujanpur Police has registered a case against Shobat Ali and started investigation.
