Amid the tension between the farmers and the Haryana Police on the Shambhu border regarding the migration to Delhi, an important meeting was held between the farmers’ leaders and the Haryana officials late this evening. After the discussion on various aspects during the meeting, the officials asked for a day’s time from the farmers in view of the Prime Minister’s visit to Haryana on December 9. After this, an attempt will be made to settle the matter by discussing again in detail.
Sarwan Singh Pandher, who returned to Shambhu border after this meeting held at Eagle Motel in Rajpura, said that Deputy Commissioner of Ambala from Haryana Parth Gupta and SP Surinder Singh of Ambala were included in the meeting. Apart from this, Patiala DIG Mandeep Singh Sidhu, SSP Dr. Nanak Singh and ADC Anupriya Kaur Johal also attended. Sarwan Singh Pandher, Jaswinder Longowal, Manjit Roy, Balwant Behramke, Guruamneet Mangat, Gurwinder Bhangu, Tejveer Panjokhara, Jasveer Sidhu and other leaders were among the farmers. Pandher said that during the meeting, he explained all aspects to the officials, which included the fulfillment of demands or permission to go to Delhi and struggle. Officials said that Monday is busy due to the Prime Minister’s visit. Therefore, they will meet again on Tuesday to resolve the issue. Unj Pandher admitted that he had come for talks only at the behest of the Centre. Pandher said that he will announce the next strategy only after waiting for the message from the Haryana authorities till Monday evening.
