Summons issued to actor Dharmendra in fraud cases

New Delhi, 10 December

A Delhi court has issued summons to popular Bollywood actor Dharmendra and two others in a case of cheating the Garam-Dharam Dhaba franchise. The complainant’s lawyer DD Pandey said that Judicial Magistrate Yashdeep Chahal passed this order against the 89-year-old actor on a complaint filed by Delhi businessman Sushil Kumar. The complainant alleged that he was lured into investing in the franchise.

The judge, in the order passed on December 5, said that the evidence on record indicates that the accused persons had instigated the complainant to further their common intention. He directed the accused to appear in court on February 20 on charges of cheating and criminal conspiracy.

The court noted that it is clearly evident that the transaction between the two parties relates to Garam Dharma Dhaba.

According to the complaint, in April 2018 the co-accused approached Dharam Singh Deol (Dharminder) with an offer to open a franchise of Garam Dharam Dhaba on NH-24/NH-9 in Uttar Pradesh. He claimed that he handed over a check amounting to Rs 17.70 lakh in September 2018 but after that the accused stopped responding to him.-News-Patiala
