Mohali police giving information.
Mohali Police has arrested 5 accused in two separate cases and recovered 8.5 kg of opium. Of these cases, one case was registered in Derabassi and the other in Handesara police station. SSP had received secret information that 4 accused were traveling in different cars to supply opium.

Following the information, a team arrested two accused from Derabasi and three accused from Handesara. During interrogation, it was revealed that Ankit Verma, a resident of Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, was handling them. The police are interrogating the accused as to where they had brought the opium from and where they were to supply it.
The accused have been identified as Dharam Singh, a resident of Rampur in Shahjahanpur and Om Prakash, a resident of Jalalabad. Manish Kumar, resident of Aliganj, Bareilly and Kamal and Kamal Verma, residents of Bareilly city. During interrogation, accused Manish told the police that he used to bring opium from Uttar Pradesh at a cheap rate and supply it in Punjab at a higher price.
2 special teams were formed to catch the accused Police arrested Dharam and Om Prakash in a case. Whereas in the second case, three other accused were arrested. SSP Deepak Pareek said that on December 9, secret information was received about the accused supplying drugs in Punjab. Information was received that the accused traveling in a red TUV Mahindra car and a white Maruti Ertiga car were going to supply opium from Uttar Pradesh to Punjab.
During this, two separate special teams were formed under the leadership of SP Mohali Dilpreet Singh, DSP Derabasi Vikramjit Singh Brar and Zirakpur DSP Jaspinder Singh. A police team arrested the accused in an Ertiga car near Nagla Mode in Handesara, Mohali and recovered 4 kg of opium. A case has been registered in Handesara police station in this matter.
Apart from this, Oil Police recovered 4.5 kg of opium from Mahindra TUV car on Derabasi College Road and arrested the accused. When the police interrogated the accused, it was revealed that Ankit, a resident of Shahjahanpur, was handling them.
