Vigilance team arrested ASI Raghbir Singh in bribery case.

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Tuesday arrested Bathinda’s Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 during its drive against corruption in the state. Assistant Sub-Inspector Raghbir Singh posted at Talwandi Sabo police station registered the police case.

Vigilance Bureau said that the policeman has been arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by Sukhpreet Singh, resident of village Singo of Talwandi Sabo block. He said that the complainant had contacted the Vigilance Bureau.

The Bureau further said that after preliminary investigation of this complaint, the team laid a trap. During which the accused was arrested in the presence of two government witnesses. He said that a case has been registered under the Anti-Corruption Act at Bathinda Range police station of Vigilance Bureau. The accused will be produced in the court tomorrow and further proceedings in the case are underway.
