Sanjay Malhotra has taken charge as the 26th Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday. Malhotra reached the central bank headquarters today where he was received by senior RBI staff members. The central bank confirmed Malhotra’s appointment through a post on social media platform ‘X’ and also shared some pictures.
Malhotra, who served as revenue secretary, signed several documents to take charge of the post. Deputy Governor Swaminathan J, M. Rajeshwar Rao and T. Ravi Shankar were also present on this occasion. Malhotra replaces Shaktikanta Das, who held the post for six years.

New RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra said that the central bank will maintain continuity and stability on policy matters.
