The Supreme Court expressed concern over Dallewal’s death fast, issued instructions


New Delhi, December 13

The Supreme Court has today expressed concern over the deteriorating health of Punjab farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is on a death fast. The top court in Punjab has asked the Center to provide immediate medical attention to the farmer leader and persuade him to break his fast.

The Supreme Court asked representatives of the Centre, Punjab government to meet farmer leader Dallewal immediately, but warned against using any force to break his protest.

The court said that no force should be used to break the protest of Punjab farmer Dallewal unless it is necessary to save his life. On this occasion, the court also asked the high-level panel to meet the agitating farmers, to persuade them to temporarily suspend their protest or shift from the highway. News-Patiala
