In view of air pollution in Delhi-NCR, the Central panel has issued a revised plan to deal with pollution in winter, under which the states have been asked to take strict action if pollution increases. He said that if the pollution is more than normal, then in that case the schools should be run on hybrid (online and offline) mode. It is worth mentioning that during winter, air pollution is high for a long time between November and January. According to the Centre’s new plan, only those inter-state buses from NCR states which are electric, CNG and BS-VI diesel will be allowed to enter Delhi. Entry of other buses will be restricted.
Earlier, on the reduction of air pollution, the Supreme Court directed the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to reduce the restrictions imposed under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)-4 to deal with air pollution in the national capital and carry out the second phase. was allowed This was done in view of improvement in Air Quality Index (AQI). A bench of Justice Abhay S Oka and Justice Augustine George Masih advised the CAQM to additionally include some of the criteria of GRAP-III in the second phase sanctions. News-Patiala
