Pakistan’s fast bowler Mohammad Amir has announced his retirement from international cricket. Left-arm fast bowler Amir is the second Pakistani player to retire within the last 24 hours, a day before Amir, all-rounder Imad Wasim also decided to retire from international cricket. The PCB brought back both players from retirement for the T20 World Cup this year. Both got a chance to play T20 World Cup but both failed to leave an impression. Both the players have announced their retirement for the second time. Aamir has announced his retirement by writing an emotional letter on social media.
32-year-old Mohammad Amir wrote that playing for Pakistan in all three formats is a matter of pride for him. Aamir wrote that it was a difficult decision for him but he feels it is the right time to retire. Amir said now is the time for young players to step up and take responsibility. Amir made his debut in international cricket in the year 2009. He has played 36 Tests, 61 ODIs and 62 T20 Internationals.
Aamir last played T20 World Cup
Mohammad Amir took 271 wickets in international cricket, while during this time he scored 1179 runs with the bat, which includes runs in Tests, ODIs and T20Is. Amir was last seen playing for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024, which was jointly hosted by the USA and the West Indies. A day before Amir, Imad Wasim announced his retirement from international cricket. Imad was last seen in Pakistan’s jersey in the T20 World Cup.
Imad has taken 117 international wickets
Imad Wasim made his debut in international cricket in May 2015. He made his international debut against Zimbabwe and went on to play 55 ODIs and 75 T20Is. Meanwhile, Imad took 117 wickets in 130 international matches. He also scored 1540 runs during this time.
