Priyanka asked for a relief package for Wayanad


New Delhi, December 14

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi today accused the Center of denying aid to the people affected by the Wayanad landslides due to politics and said that no one should be discriminated against during natural calamities. Earlier, Kerala MPs including Priyanka staged a demonstration in the Parliament complex and demanded a relief package for Wayanad from the Centre. Meanwhile, he was holding a banner saying ‘Justice for Wayanad, relief package should be announced for Wayanad’. Talking to reporters, Priyanka said, ‘We are very disappointed that the government is refusing to give a special package to Wayanad. We went to the Home Minister for a special package, wrote to the Prime Minister and reached out to everyone possible.’ He said that similarly there was a huge disaster in the Congress-ruled state of Himachal Pradesh and they too have been seeking help from the Center for a long time. The Congress leader said, ‘In Wayanad, the entire country saw the devastation and the pain of the people, but still the Center is denying help to the victims in both cases only because of politics. -News-Patiala

Is Adani a word against parliamentary rules: Priyanka Gandhi

New Delhi: Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra today questioned why the word ‘Adani’ has been removed from her speech in the House the other day. He asked if this word was against the parliamentary rules. In her maiden speech in the Lok Sabha on Friday, Priyanka had said that it seems that the Prime Minister may not have understood that it is the ‘Constitution of India’ and not the ‘Law of the Union’. When asked about BJP’s criticism of Rahul Gandhi’s speech, Priyanka said, “This is the work of BJP. They avoid talking about real issues. The word Adani was removed from the speech I gave. Is the word Adani against the parliamentary rules? They can name anyone, we can’t even name Adani?” – News-Patiala
