We will eliminate Naxalism from Chhattisgarh by March 2026: Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah today said that the Chhattisgarh Police has made major achievements in the fight against Naxalism in the last one year and the Center and the State Government are committed to eradicate this problem from the state before March 31, 2026. Addressing the ‘Presidential Police Color Award’ function at the Police Parade Ground here, Shah praised the Chhattisgarh government’s rehabilitation policy to deal with Naxalism and urged the Naxalites to lay down their arms and join the mainstream. Shah expressed confidence that the Chhattisgarh Police will fulfill its responsibilities and will never back down from its duty. The Union Minister said that the state and the central government together will completely eradicate Naxalism from Chhattisgarh before March 31, 2026. He said that when Chhattisgarh becomes Naxal free, the entire country will get rid of this problem.

He said that in the last one year Chhattisgarh Police has achieved important achievements in the fight against Naxalism. -News-Patiala

Union Home Minister claims to have killed 287 Naxalites in one year

The Union Home Minister said that 287 Naxalites were killed, 1000 were arrested and 837 Naxalites surrendered in the state during the last one year. Shah said that the Chhattisgarh Police along with the security forces of the country have worked to put the final nail in the coffin of Naxalism in the last one year. He said that it was the first time in the last four decades that Naxalites were killed in violence, while the number of civilians and security forces remained less than 100. Shah also appealed to the Naxalites to leave violence and join the mainstream. -News-Patiala
