Police arrested accused Daljeet Singh.
In Amritsar today, Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested retired sub-inspector Daljeet Singh on charges of taking bribe of Rs 10,000. Presently he was lodged in Central Jail, Amritsar under the NDPS Act, from where he was arrested on a production warrant.

Vigilance Bureau said that the accused has been arrested on the basis of the complaint lodged by Joga Singh resident of village Kotli Naseer Khan, Amritsar. He further said that according to the complaint, the accused retired sub-inspector, during his posting, had demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh in exchange for proving the innocence of the complainant’s son in the FIR lodged at Amritsar Cantonment police station in 2017.
During the investigation of this complaint, it was proved that the accused had taken Rs 10,000 as bribe. The Bureau said that a case in this regard was registered on November 28 at Vigilance Bureau Police Station, Amritsar Range under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
