Bangladesh Temple Vandalism: Since the coup in Bangladesh, Hindus are being continuously targeted there. Hindu homes and temples are being attacked. In this series, miscreants have broken eight statues in three Hindu temples in Mymensingh and Dinajpur of Bangladesh within two days. News agency News-Patiala gave this information on Friday citing local media reports.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, the police have arrested a person in connection with the vandalism in a temple. Incidents are continuously coming to light against the minority Hindu community in Bangladesh and these are the latest incidents.

Three idols of two temples were vandalized in Haluaghat sub-district of Mymensingh on Thursday and Friday morning. Quoting temple sources and local people, Officer-in-charge (OC) of Haluaghat police station, Abul Khair said that in the early hours of Friday, miscreants vandalized two idols of Bondarpara temple located in Shakuai Sangh of Haluaghat.
He said that no case has been registered yet nor any arrest has been made in this incident. In another incident in the early hours of Thursday, criminals vandalized an idol at the Polashkanda Kali temple in Beldora union of Haluaghat.
Police arrested one person
Police on Friday arrested a 27-year-old man from Polashkand village for his alleged involvement. The officer in charge said that the arrested Alaluddin confessed to his crime during interrogation. Earlier on Thursday, Polashkand Kali Mandir Committee President Suvash Chandra Sarkar had registered a case against unknown persons.
Tension has increased between India and Bangladesh
Tension has increased between India and Bangladesh over attacks on Hindu minorities. India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri expressed concern about the safety and welfare of minorities during a meeting with Bangladeshi officials in Dhaka. Bangladesh has acknowledged 88 incidents of communal violence against minorities, mainly Hindus, after the ouster of Sheikh Hasina from power. These incidents have made diplomatic relations between the two countries even more tense.
