Robin Uthappa Arrest Warrant : Former Indian cricketer and 2007 T20 World Cup winner Robin Uthappa is in trouble. An arrest warrant has been issued against Robin Uthappa in a case of alleged fraud related to Provident Fund (PF). He has until December 27 to pay the dues of around Rs 24 lakh, or face arrest.
The Bengaluru Regional PM Commissioner had issued this arrest warrant on December 4, but the cricketer was not found at his home in Bengaluru. It is being told that Uthappa is in Dubai with his family.
Uthappa, who is associated with Centuries Lifestyle Brands Pvt Ltd, is accused of deducting PF amount from the salary of employees. But this amount was not deposited in his PF account. Uthappa is the director of Bengaluru-based Centaurs Lifestyle Brands Pvt.
Regional PF Commissioner Sadakshari Gopal Reddy, in an arrest warrant issued on December 4, said the company had failed to pay compensation of around Rs 23,36,602, which was to be recovered from the former Team India player.
The 39-year-old former batsman is accused of deducting provident funds from the salaries of his employees. But there is an allegation of not depositing the amount in the accounts of his employees. The warrant states that the office is unable to settle the provident fund accounts of poor workers due to non-payment of dues. The letter has asked the police to arrest Uthappa and return the warrant by December 27.
