Saroj
Our life is a combination of joys and sorrows and joys and sorrows. Time doesn’t stop, it keeps moving on. Akbar said to the scribe who wrote the diary of his court, “Write down such a thought with which the sorrowful will be paralyzed and the happy man will not be proud.”
Katib only wrote in the diary, “This time will also pass.” A person’s childhood memories sometimes bring joy to our face and many sad memories also make us sad. No matter how much a person is going through suffering. Don’t let your dreams die. He always has hope and he keeps seeing many kinds of dreams, to fulfill which he keeps running around with hard work and work.
My parents used to run around to fulfill the dreams of our brothers and sisters. Worked so that children’s dreams could be fulfilled. Now I also run around to fulfill my children’s and my dreams. For the last 25 years, I have been going to work to fulfill my dreams and that of my children. In the early days of the householder, the dream was to travel far and wide. To travel abroad. The hand was also tight then. Fulfilled some dreams. A teacher who taught school with me and was waiting for her retirement day started saying to me, “Look madam! Happily your children are settled abroad. Now you spend your money on yourself. Take your spouse and travel far and wide… these are your days to roam. You will be confined to the house when the walking knees give way or someone catches you. All your salary will be deposited in the banks. Dreams will remain unfulfilled. Look at me… I used to think I would travel abroad with my husband… thinking thinking thinking ah the days have come. Now the knees were also answered, Sugar-B. P. It kept increasing and decreasing. Now where to go? The son got the tickets to Thailand and said, “Mom, I am going on a ten-day tour, you should also come from here.”
I went to Canada last year to visit my children. I walked around as much as I could. One day I was visiting Canada Palace in Vancouver with my younger sister Manjit and daughter Harleen. The cruises stopped at Vancouver harbor where the Kamagatamaru ship full of patriots was once held for several days. I asked my sister, “How do these ships stop here?”
The sister started telling me, “These are cruise ships. In these, travelers go to visit different cities of America. The smaller cruise ships that go to the smaller islands in Canada.” He further explained, “These cruises mostly feature elderly Canadian-American couples. After retiring from the work car, they go out for a walk every month. Many elderly couples also go together. These whites enjoy their lives leaving their children exposed. Spend their pension on travel. Freed from the entanglements of worldliness, they spend time solely for their own pleasure.”
“We will also retire and go on this cruise one day. We will travel abroad. Let us bear the responsibilities of children’s marriages. We will go for a walk free from everything.” I dream While we were talking to each other, a white couple of our age was standing next to us, looking at the cruise and talking in English. My sister heard their words and said to me in Punjabi, “This white couple is also thinking about you, that we too will go on this cruise one day.”
“Good!!” I said in surprise. Now I think that every human being of any race, whether he lives on any part of the earth or belongs to any region, religion, color, has the same dreams, habits and plans for the future. Man has many similar dreams. Makes future plans. As long as a person is alive, the hopes of the future are at the head of expectations. Some dreams of man are fulfilled, some remain unfulfilled. That is life.
