They have been identified as Gurvinder Singh (25) son of Gurdev Singh resident of Kalanur, Virinder Singh alias Ravi (23) son of Ranjit Singh of village Agwan and Jashnpreet Singh (18) of village Niko Sara (Kalanur). Police say that all three belonged to the Pakistan-backed Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF).

All these three constituencies are from villages under Dera Baba Nanak. Batala and Gurdaspur police have been actively searching for the accused responsible for the bomb blasts at police stations/outposts in the border area for the past fifteen days. It is to be noted that the responsibility for the blast outside the Islamabad police station in Amritsar was also taken by a young life soldier from a village in Dera Baba Nanak area.
