SP Investigation Jasroop Kaur Bath said that Sanjeev Gupta, resident of Arjan Nagar, Ladowali Road, Jalandhar was cheated of Rs 7.50 lakh. The cyber cell team led by Inspector Arshpreet Kaur under the supervision of DSP Rashpal Singh succeeded in freezing the fraudulent amount of Rs 5,40,517. This action was taken by registering an FIR in the matter.

In the second case, Sanjeev Mahendru, resident of Seth Hukam Chand Colony, Jalandhar, was cheated of Rs 14.16 lakh. The cyber cell team traced the entire amount, froze it and later returned it to the victim.

In the third case, Gagandeep Kaur, resident of Kadiyana village of Adampur, was defrauded of Rs 2 lakh. After receiving the extradition order from the court this morning, the Cyber ​​Cell team has returned the amount to the complainant.

SSP Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh said – Citizens are requested to immediately report cyber crime by calling 1930 or registering a complaint on cybercrime.gov.in. So that timely action can be ensured.

SSP Khakh said- Rs 52,31,915 has been returned to the victims of cyber fraud in 2024. The public is advised to be cautious while transacting online and protect themselves from financial loss.
