Thieves running away after stealing in Kapurthala

Thieves broke the shutter of a general store in Phagwara subdivision of Kapurthala and stole goods worth lakhs of rupees, including cigarettes worth Rs 7 lakh 70 thousand. The thieves also broke the CCTV cameras installed in the store. However, the activity of the thieves was captured in the CCTV installed near the spot.

After the complaint of the store owner, the city police has registered an FIR against unknown thieves under various sections of BNS and started investigating the case. SHO Amandeep Nahar said that the investigation is being conducted by investigating officer ASI Sunil Kumar on the basis of CCTV footage.

The shutter was raised 3 feet high

The owner of the general store, Neeraj Bakshi, resident of Urban State, told in the complaint given to the police that he has a store named Saraswati Enterprises on Sukhchain Sahib Road, Baba Fateh Singh Nagar. He closed his store at around 9:15 pm on December 14 and went home. When I came to my store the next day around 11 am, I saw that the locks of the shutter of the store were broken and the shutter was raised about 3 feet high. After this he entered the store and saw that all the goods were scattered.

The cupboard kept inside the store was broken in which cigarette boxes were kept. Two boxes of cigarettes and other boxes were missing from the cupboard, whose value was approximately Rs 7 lakh 70 thousand. Thieves stole coins worth Rs 10-12 thousand and perfume worth Rs 6500.

According to SHO Amandeep Nahar of City Police Station Phagwara, the thieves are being identified by taking possession of the CCTV footage installed near the store in the said incident. The thieves will be caught soon.
