ATM and shutter lock were found broken.
An attempt has been made to break and rob an ATM in Kapurthala. After breaking the ATM, the miscreant was withdrawing money when PCR’s night team reached the spot and controlled the miscreant. The team has handed over the City Police Station-2 to the Urban State Police.

PCR team’s night incharge Ranjit Singh said that a Kirpan iron rod and an e-rickshaw have also been recovered from the accused. He was on patrol at around 3:30 in the morning, checking the ATMs installed in the city. Meanwhile, when he reached the Indian Overseas Bank ATM located on Railway Station Road, its shutter was open and the lock was broken. When I looked inside, a young man had broken the ATM and was trying to withdraw money.
The accused was immediately controlled and handed over to City Police Station-2 Urban State Police. The arrested accused has been identified as Lakkha Singh resident of Dera Jaggu Shah. Apart from the e-rickshaw on which he had come, a Kirpan and an iron rod have been recovered from him. Due to which he broke the lock of ATM and shutter.
