The Public Works Department will investigate the case of expensive items found at Kejriwal’s residence

Taking cognizance of the letter written by Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijendra Gupta to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi on November 20 to conduct a high-level investigation into the discovery of many expensive and luxury items in Government Residence 6, Flagstaff Road, former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Regarding the bungalow, the Lieutenant Governor had ordered the Delhi Vigilance Department to investigate the matter on December 6. Acting on it, he has asked the Principal Secretary of the Public Works Department to investigate. The Vigilance Department in its orders has asked the Public Works Department to investigate the four issues and submit a report within 5 days. The department asked to find out who had provided the comforts at Kejriwal’s residence. Did any person benefit from these tools? Whether there was any impact on public funds from these sources and whether any government protocols or regulations were violated in the process. Vijender Gupta said that when PWD prepared a list of the goods available in the bungalow in 2022 and after Kejriwal vacated the bungalow in 2024, it was found that the goods available there were much more than what he had provided.
