Today, due to continuous rain in the border district, the cold wave has gained more strength, which has affected the normal life of the people. It was cloudy here since last night and rained all day today. The rain would stop for some time and start again. This rain is said to purify the environment and beneficial for the crops. For the past several months, the amount of pollution in the environment had increased due to which people’s health was also affected. Due to the rain, pollution particles have been cleared from the environment. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a forecast of rain tomorrow as well. Today, the maximum temperature is 13 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is 8 degrees Celsius.

Although the moderate rain that fell throughout the day in the district is being said to be very beneficial for the crops, the rain that fell throughout the day slowed down the pace of normal life. Hardeep Singh, a young farmer of Sabra village in the border area, said that this rain is very beneficial for crops, especially wheat. Sarwan Singh, a resident of Rasulpur, said that it is becoming difficult for the animals to bring green fodder from the fields in the villages.

Agriculture Extension Officer Kuldeep Singh Jagowal said that today’s harvest will prove beneficial for all types of vegetables including wheat, sugarcane, green fodder and mustard. He said that the spraying of chemical fertilizers and medicines on the crops in the past will now be washed away, due to which the crops and the human environment will benefit greatly. Due to this rain, all the crops being cultivated under chemical and natural farming will get good benefits. Abundant production of wheat crop will increase due to cool weather.

Due to rain in the district, where the temperature has dropped, on the other hand, due to lack of drainage, people have to face problems. Electricity supply was stopped at some places in the area. Electricity supply in Adampur and nearby villages has been stopped since half past nine in the morning. Due to this, the water supply was also stopped and people had to face problems. By the time the news was written, the power supply had not started and most people’s inverters were also turned off. Dirty water flooded the roads in many places in Jalandhar. According to doctors, people will get rid of diseases due to rain. Nakodar, Jamshar, Noormahal, Jalandhar cantonment, Jandiala, Kathar, Alawalpur, Kala Sanghya and other places have become very cold due to rain.

Agriculture Development Officer Shahkot Jasbir Singh said that this rain will prove extremely beneficial for wheat, green fodder, vegetables and sugarcane crops. With the cooling of the weather, the yield of wheat will increase.
