Even in town Balachaur, only a few shops remained closed, most of the market remained open. The railway road of Nawanshahr also remained open. Fruit, vegetable and sweet shops remained open. The police of City Police Station Balachaur remained fully alert and said that no shop was closed by the Kisan Union.

Most people are facing difficulties due to closure of buses and trains. People have to resort to private vehicles to reach their destination. Most of the people were seen standing at the bus stand, who had taken buses and trains to go to far away places. People are facing a lot of difficulties in getting jobs.
