Former Indian hockey coach Jagbir Singh suffered a heart attack, admitted to ICU

Jagbir Singh, the former forward and hockey coach of the Indian hockey team, was admitted to the hospital after suffering from chest pain, where he suffered a heart attack during treatment. He is currently admitted in the ICU. Two-time Olympian Jagbir Singh was present here with the Hockey India League (HIL) Gonasika team. Jagbir felt short of breath during a training session on Friday afternoon. He was rushed to Apollo Hospital, where one of his arteries was found to be blocked. Doctors were treating his blocked artery during which he suffered a heart attack. A source told this news agency that the hockey coach has been kept in the ICU ward of the hospital. Former Air India employee Jagbir Singh represented India in 1988 Seoul and 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Jagbir also coached the Indian men’s team at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. -News-Patiala
