1. PM inaugurates Jammu Railway Division
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the new railway division of Jammu and Charlapalli New Terminal Station in Telangana through video conferencing on January 6. The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of Raigarh Railway Division building of East Coast Railway. At present there are a total of 17 zones and 68 divisions of Railways in the country.
Jammu will be the 69th division of the country. Till now it was in Firozpur of Northern Railway zone.
2. PM Modi inaugurates Namo Bharat Rail Corridor
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 5 inaugurated the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Rail Corridor between New Ashoknagar station in the capital Delhi and Sahibabad in Ghaziabad. Through this connectivity, passengers going to Delhi-Meerut will be able to complete their journey in just 40 minutes. From New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South, Namo Bharat Rapid Rail will pass through a total of 11 stations.

1. Recruitment for 10th, 12th pass in Railways
Railway Recruitment Cell, South Central Railway (RRC SCR) has released recruitment for Group D posts under sports quota. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website scr.indianrailways.gov.in.
Educational Qualification:
- 10th/ 12th or ITI degree.
- Candidates must have participated in National or International Championship or All India University Competition.
Age Limit :
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 25 years
- Candidates coming from reserved category will be given relaxation in upper age as per rules.
- Age will be calculated keeping in mind 1 January 2025.
2. Recruitment of Grade B Officer in Income Tax Department
Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) under the Income Tax Department has invited applications for the posts of Processing Assistant Grade B. Candidates have to apply offline.
Educational Qualification:
- Master Degree, BE, MTech
- Senior officers working in Central Governments or State Governments or Union Territories can apply.
- 3 to 6 years experience
Salary :
Under Level 7 Rs 44,900 – 1,42,400 per month
Age Limit:
maximum 56 years

1. Only half the candidates appeared in BPSC re-exam.
The re-exam of BPSC 70th CCE exam was conducted on Saturday. However, only about half the candidates appeared for this exam.
According to BPSC, admit cards were issued for 12,012 candidates. 8,111 candidates downloaded the admit card and only 5,943 candidates appeared for the re-exam. Actually, BPSC 70th CCE exam was held on 13th December. There was talk of irregularities at Bapu Center in Patna, after which BPSC decided to conduct re-exam of this centre.
The exam candidates are still protesting demanding cancellation of the entire exam and re-conducting the exam.
2. NEET PG percentile reduced
The Medical Counseling Committee has reduced the percentile to qualify NEET PG 2024. Now EWS and General category candidates can sit for counseling at 15 percentile. Whereas SC, ST, OBC and PwD category candidates who score 10 percentile will be eligible for counselling.
