Rishi Dhawan retires from limited over cricket

New Delhi, January 6

Former India all-rounder Rishi Dhawan announced his retirement from domestic limited-overs tournaments after the group stage matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Dhawan, who played one T20I and three ODIs for India in 2016, took the decision after Himachal Pradesh failed to reach the knockout stage. However, the 34-year-old Dhawan will play the rest of the Ranji Trophy starting January 23. He wrote on social media, “It is with a heavy heart that I announce my retirement from (limited overs) cricket, although I have no regrets.” This game has been an integral part of my life for two years and it has given me immense happiness and countless memories.” Dhawan, who won Himachal the Hazare Trophy in 2021-22, could only score 196 runs in seven matches this year. -News-Patiala
