India capable of ending global conflicts: Jaishankar

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, highlighting India’s capable role in ending global disputes, said that it (India) is among the few countries that are in a position to talk to both Russia and Ukraine and Israel and Iran. Jaishankar, who was on a two-day visit to Spain, was addressing the Indian community here. He was talking about the war in Ukraine and the ongoing war in West Asia.

The minister said that today India is seen as a country that contributes to the global dialogue when ‘the world is looking at many challenges, different issues, so we also come with ideas and priorities.’ He said, ‘Today there are very few countries that are in a position to talk to both Russia and Ukraine.’ He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Russia twice last year and he also went to Kiev, Ukraine. India is one of the few countries that can talk to Israel as well as Iran. -News-Patiala

Spain will open a consulate in Bangalore

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that Spain will soon open a consulate in Bangalore. He described it as a good sign to strengthen the relationship between the two countries. He said, ‘In terms of public relations between the two countries, I hope that the people of Barcelona will welcome the fact that we have a consulate there.’
