Pamma Sohana Memorial Kabaddi Cup: Sohana wins in 42 kg

On the second day of the Kabaddi Cup being organized by Baidwan Sports Club Sohana in memory of international Kabaddi player Pamma Sohana, Congress Panchayati Raj Wing District Mohali president Amarjit Singh Gill Lakhnore inaugurated the second day’s matches as the chief guest. He also presented an amount of 21 thousand to the club. Senior Congress leader Buta Singh Sohana also encouraged the players. In the tournament being held under the chairmanship of the club’s patron sports promoter Mahendra Singh Sohana and Councilor Harjit Singh Bholu Sohana, Sohana won the first place and Ujiana Jind won the second place in 42 kg weight today. Jot Sohana and Khushi Sohana were adjudged the best riders and both were awarded Ranger Cycles. Purhiran stood first and Sohana stood second in 47 kg weight. Nimhun Purhiran was selected as the best striker and Tiger Sohana as the best runner and was honored with the Rangers. In 52 kg, Burj Hari Singh was first and Sohana was second. Aman became the best runner and Aman became the best Jafi. Club President Rubal Sohana, Chairman Rupa Sohana, Treasurer Raman Sohana, Senior Vice President Jota Sidhu and General Secretary Gurjant Singh Shetty said that there will be village open competitions on January 20. The winner will be given a first cash prize of one and a half lakh and a second cash prize of one lakh. Bullets will be awarded to the best raider and hunter.
