The director once narrated the story of a quarrel with Nana Patekar, which took place on the set of the film ‘Parinda’. Vidhu Vinod Chopra had stated the reason for a quarrel with Nana in the reality singing show, saying, ‘He had asked for food in the afternoon shooting. I asked- did not bring food from home? There was a fight over it. The first quarrel was this. Since everyone used to bring food and water from home. We got into a fight. He abused the mother and sister and I had also learned abuses. I tore her kurta. He did that shot in the vest, because the kurta was torn.

Vidhu further said, ‘We were fighting, fighting. Then the police told us- here we have come to save you, but you are quarreling among themselves. it’s all happening.
