New Delhi: Kamal Haasan’s statement ‘Kannada language is born from Tamil‘ Controversy over the controversy is getting deeper. On Monday, June 2, protesters of Karnataka Rakshan Vedike (Shivrame Gowda faction) demonstrated in Belagavi against an outstanding statement. The protesters shouted slogans and expressed anger with Kamal Haasan’s cross -crossed picture. The protesters sitting on the road jammed not only condemned Kamal Haasan’s statement, but also called it ‘extremely wrong’.
The protesters took out a protest march from Channamma Circle to DC office and demanded action against them from the district administration. Those involved in the protests called it an insult to Kannada language and culture. A man involved in the performance said, ‘Kannada language is born from Tamil, saying that he has done wrong things. We are warning them for the last time. The other said, ‘If you speak the language bad inside Karnataka, then we will also welcome you in our own way. If you have to talk in Karnataka, if you want to come to this state, then you have to speak Kannada. Keep your speech in your house.

Protests by lighting a picture of actor
Activists of Kannada supporter Karnataka Rakshana Vedike tore the posters of Kamal Haasan’s film ‘Thug Life’ in Bengaluru and issued a ban warning on the film. Earlier, angry people in Bengaluru burnt the actor’s picture. Taking self -cognizance in the case, the Basaveshwarnagar police had registered an FIR under sections 270 and 283 of BNS. Actor Kamal Haasan is caught in controversies over the comment on the language during the promotion of ‘Thug Life’. During an event in Chennai on May 28 last, he said that ‘Kannada was born from Tamil’.

Kamal Haasan’s controversial statement was seen in many other parts along with Karnataka. Along with the common people, political people also appeared angry with Kamal Haasan. Supporters of BJP and Kannada condemned their statement and demanded unconditional apology. During the promotion of the film ‘Thug Life’, in the show held in Chennai, Kamal Haasan started his speech with ‘Urere Urave Tamheehe’, which means- ‘My life and my family is in Tamil language’. ‘Thug Life’ will be released in theaters on 5 June.
