Recently, Forbes has released the list of richest people till July 2025. After a long time, DLF owner Kushal Pal (KP) Singh has entered this list. KP Singh is ranked 10th in India and 124th worldwide. Currently his net worth is $ 18.1 billion US $.

Returned to India to join army
Chaudhary Mukhtar Singh, father of Kushal Pal Singh, was a well -known lawyer from Bulandshahr. His uncle used to be in -charge of stable in Visral Lodge, Rashtrapati Bhavan.
One day when Kushal reached Rashtrapati Bhavan to meet his uncle, he met the Viceroy Lord Vavel of India there. Lord Vavel advised Kushal to ride her by looking at Kushal. After this, Kushal’s father took him a loan and sent him to London so that he could learn horse riding there.
In London, he became a part of the British High Society and fell in love with a girl named Julie there. One day, while playing polo, he found an officer of the Indian Army who asked him to join the army.
Kushal easily cleared the Indian Military Academy exam. Now they had two options- either marry Julie and settled in London or return to India and join the army.
Then when the Government of India asked to bear the expenses of his return, he returned to the country and started training the army.
Contribution to Gurugram’s development
After leaving the job from the army, Kushal Pal Singh thought of doing business but his two businesses failed. He then joined his father -in -law’s company DLF.
In 1976, the Government of India implemented the Urban Land (Sealing and Regulation) Act, 1976. In this, the government set a limit for buying land in urban areas. This caused problems in the functioning of DLF. In such a situation, I saw the opportunity in Gurugram in Kushal Pal Singh.
He saw Gurugram connecting Haryana and Delhi. He bought land in Gurugram and started development on this.
