MrBeast’s concern about AI came to light when OpenAI launched its new advanced video generation tool Sora 2 which is now also available on iOS. With the help of this tool, any user can create highly realistic videos just by writing text.
Meanwhile, Meta has also started a new AI-only Feed on its platform in which only AI made posts and videos are shown. Experts say that such technologies can deeply impact YouTube content, copyright rights and creative professions.
Interestingly, MrBeast himself has used AI tools before. They launched an AI thumbnail generator on their platform ViewStats to help YouTube creators create attractive thumbnails in seconds. However, this feature was also criticized because many people believed that it would affect the jobs of real graphic designers.
After the growing controversy and feedback from users, MrBeast himself decided to shut down this tool. “Thank you for all your feedback. We’ve removed ViewStats’ AI thumbnail tool and will now allow creators to contact real thumbnail artists directly,” he said in a post in June. This move proves that MrBeast does not deny the power of AI but he also believes that machines cannot replace human creativity and real artists.
Currently, AI video generation is developing so fast that in the coming years it will be difficult to decide which video is real and which is created by a machine. MrBeast’s warning is indeed an indication that if this technology is not kept under control, then both the existence of YouTube creators and their earnings may be in danger in the future.
