Important festival of faith Chhath Puja begins…
Today, October 25, 2025, Chhath Puja, an important festival of folk faith, has begun. This festival is celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm in many states including Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal. A special feature of Chhath Puja is that the fasting women fast for 36 hours, meaning they neither drink water nor eat food. Despite this, they offer Argha (water offering) twice to the sun god with full devotion and faith – first to the setting sun and then to the rising sun the next day. This concludes the holy fast.
