Bumrah took two wickets for just 26 runs in four overs, while at the other end Chakraborty conceded just 23 runs in four overs and took two wickets. The rest of the bowlers failed to make much of an impact. Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets, but proved too costly.

When India came to bat first, only Abhishek Sharma and Harshit Rana could score big. Abhishek played a blistering innings of 68 runs, while Harshit Rana, batting at number seven, scored 35 runs, but he was too expensive with his bowling. Harshit conceded 27 runs in just two overs. This is the first time in five years that Australia have beaten India in a T20 match on their home soil. Australia last beat India on their home soil in Sydney in December 2020. This is Australia’s 12th T20 win against India in total.
