On Saturday afternoon, a student studying in class 6 in a private school in Jaipur jumped from the fourth floor of the school. The student died on the spot. After this, the parents of the children studying in the school and the people living around the school are angry. Questions are continuously being raised on the school administration regarding the safety of the school.
The incident is being reported from Neerja Modi School.
Incident captured in CCTV
Police said that the student has been identified by the name of Amyra. It is clearly visible in the CCTV installed in the school that the student climbed the railing of the school and jumped from a height of about 47 feet. Other children nearby are seen walking normally. They seem completely unaware of what is going to happen.
By the time teachers or other students could reach for help, the student had already jumped, due to which she suffered serious injuries. He was immediately taken to the nearby Metro Hospital where doctors declared him ‘dead on arrival’. Lakhan Khatana, station house officer of Mansarovar police station, said, ‘In the initial investigation it seems that it was a suicide. However, the reason behind this step is still being investigated.
The scene was cleared before the police arrived.
When the police reached Neerja Modi School, the school administration had already cleaned the place where the student had fallen. Due to this, the anger of the parents increased and they accused the school administration of tampering with the evidence.
After this, Amyra’s parents lodged an FIR against the school administration. He says that Amyra’s death is not common, it should be investigated. Questions were also raised as to where were the teachers and other staff of the school when the girl jumped. Amyra was the only child of her parents. His mother works in a bank, while his father does a private job.
At the same time, no statement has been issued by Neerja Modi School till now. District Education Officer Ram Niwas Sharma said that the school administration is not cooperating. Sharma said, ‘We tried to talk on phone several times but the school administration is not ready to talk. We also asked for the principal’s number but it was not given.
