Schools Closed- In several districts of Uttar Pradesh, schools have been declared closed due to the Kartik Purnima Ganga Ishanan Mela, the holy festival of faith. This decision has been taken mainly keeping in mind the safety of students in Bulandshahr and Hapur districts, traffic management and heavy crowding in schools located on the banks of river Ganga. Every year lakhs of devotees gather at these ghats to bathe in the Ganga. The local administration makes extensive arrangements for safety and convenience.

The district administration has issued an order for school holidays. Accordingly, the duration of holidays in Bulandshahr and Hapur will be different. Holidays will be long in schools of Anupshahr area of ​​Bulandshahr. This decision is based on the impact of the fair in the respective areas and the expected crowd. Schools from class I to XII will remain closed in all the boards. This will ensure the safety of students and maintain smooth traffic flow.

Bulandshahr: School closed for 4 days in Anupshahr

A four-day school holiday has been announced due to the ‘Lakhi Kartik Purnima Ganga Ishanan Mela’ organized in Anupshahr region. These holidays will last from November 4 to November 6, 2025. The Ganga Mela is a large-scale event in Anupshahr, also known as the ‘Lakhi Mela’. It attracts huge crowds of lakhs of pilgrims, causing heavy congestion and traffic disruptions throughout the region. This order was issued by the Primary Education Officer of Bulandshahr, and it applies to all government and private schools in Anupshahr city.

Hapur: School closed for 2 days in Garhmukteshwar

The Hapur district administration has also announced a holiday in schools in view of the Ganga Mela, the main center of which is Garhmukteshwar area. The schools of classes I to XII of all boards in Hapur have been closed from November 3-4, 2025. Basic Education Officer (BSA) Ritu Tomar said that this decision has been taken on the orders of the District Magistrate. This decision has been taken mainly for the safety of children and to avoid heavy traffic on the roads during the fair. The fair is expected to be heavily crowded for the next three days.
