In view of the farmers’ protest march towards the national capital, the police have set up barricades at many places due to which the passengers crossing the Delhi-Noida border today faced huge problems. A senior police officer said that checking is going on at the borders and drones are being used for surveillance. Additional Commissioner of Police (East) Sagar Singh Kalsi said that adequate arrangements have been made at the borders of East Delhi and all precautionary measures including anti-riot equipment have been taken. Drones are being used for vigilance and coordination with the traffic police is also being done for smooth movement of vehicles in the area.
Aprajita Singh, a resident of Greater Noida, said that due to the barricade installed at the Chilla border, passengers are facing huge difficulties. He said, “It took me about an hour to pass that part. The police have put up barricades on both sides of the Delhi-Noida border, which has led to traffic jams, especially on the road leading from Noida to Delhi. There is a problem for the passers-by. Passengers said that they have to go around a lot to reach their destinations as the police have barricaded them. Joint Commissioner of Police (Southern Range) SK Jain said that they are also coordinating with Noida Police. He said, “Our two main boundaries in the South-Eastern district are DND boundary and Kalindi Kunj. Since Section 163 of the Indian Penal Code (BNS) is in force in the New Delhi area and Parliament is also in session, protests without permission are strictly prohibited.”
He said, “We have increased security on both the borders to stop them. Appropriate barricades, barriers and hydra cranes have been deployed. We will stop those who try to force entry.”
Noida Police issued an advisory regarding the routes

In view of farmers’ march to Delhi, Noida Police has today issued an advisory which includes restrictions and alternative routes. The farmers are demanding implementation of the demands accepted by the central government during the Delhi agitation and a legal guarantee of minimum support price (MSP) for the crops. Bharatiya Kisan Parishad (BKP) leader Sukhbir Khalifa said the farmers would gather under the Mahamaya flyover in Noida before moving to Delhi. Noida Police has intensified surveillance at all border points between Noida and Delhi. Alternative arrangements are being made for traffic at these borders to ensure safety. Vehicles heading towards Greater Noida from Chilla border have been advised to proceed via Sector 14-A flyover, roundabout in Sector-15 and proceed via Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk and Jhunjhupura Chowk. DND has advised those coming to Delhi from the border to use the Film City flyover, then use the elevated road towards Sector-18 and for easy access into Delhi.
