PM Modi in Chandigarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today in Chandigarh dedicate the nation to the successful implementation of three transformative new criminal laws – Indian Penal Code, Indian Civil Protection Code and Indian Evidence Act. In this regard, Prime Minister Modi said on ‘X’ that it is a matter of great joy that these laws are being implemented when the country is completing 75 years of the Constitution. He said that it is a special day in our efforts to ensure speedy justice for every Indian.

Mr. Modi will attend the program in Chandigarh today at 12 noon to successfully implement the three new criminal laws. The theme of the program is “Secure Society, Developed India – From Punishment to Justice”. The program will showcase the practical application of these laws, showing how they are already reshaping the criminal justice landscape.- ANI

Security forces deployed in the city

Around 4,000 police personnel and 10 paramilitary forces have been deployed to maintain law and order across the city. The Prime Minister will arrive at the old airport around 11:25 am. From where they will fly to Rajindra Park Helipad, Sector 1 by Mi-17 helicopter and then proceed to Peck Institute by road. Home Minister Amit Shah will also participate in this program, who reached Chandigarh on Monday evening.

Traffic Advisory: Avoid these roads between 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m

Due to Prime Minister’s visit and security arrangements, there may be traffic jams on the following routes from 11 am to 3:30 pm

Southern Marg: Airport Light Point to News-Patiala Chowk, Iron Market Traffic Lights, Gurdwara Chowk and New Labor Chowk (Sector 20/21-33/34)

Reservoir Path: Purana Mazdoor Chowk (Sector 18/19-20/21), AP Chowk (Sector 7/8-18/19) and Hira Singh Chowk (Sector 5/6-7/8)

Vigyan Marg: Sector 4/5-8/9 Chowk, New Barricade Chowk (Sector 3/4-9/10), Sector 2/3-10/11 Chowk and PEC Light Point.
