A clash broke out today between the unemployed ETT teachers and the police who came to surround the residence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann here. These teachers were demanding their joining for the last one and a half years who protested under the leadership of ETT Cadre 5994 Union and 2364 Union. The police used water cannons to disperse the unemployed teachers, during which the turbans and chins of many unemployed teachers were kicked. Meanwhile, many protestors were also injured. Earlier, a large number of unemployed ETT teachers from across Punjab blocked the Zirakpur-Bathinda national highway and staged a protest, after which the teachers marched towards the Chief Minister’s residence as they broke the forced police blockade.
